Khowaga's 365 Photo Project

Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, one of our Persian student groups organized a silent protest against the anti-reformist crackdowns by displaying pairs of shoes, symbolizing the protesters killed and arrested by the government, painted green (the color adopted by the resistance).  I caught this on the way out this afternoon.

I’ve always wanted to go to Iran, although the political realities prevent that from happening anytime soon, but I remain inspired by the opposition and their efforts to make their voices heard.
