49/365: Mistress of her domain
I had to work late (again). Walking back to my car, I noticed the recently dedicated statue of the late, great Barbara Jordan floodlit (I’m usually not on campus late enough to notice stuff like that), and I stopped for a few minutes to bask in her presence. As you may have heard, it wasn’t the best day in Austin.
I’ve been told that the look on her face is eerily lifelike to those who knew her. I can see it — she’s clearly surveying her domain. I’m kind of OK with that. Confidence wins out over adversity.
